Football Expert Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions
Arsenal's 10-game winning streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.
My son told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
