Manchester United Set to Secure Germany Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
The Women's Super League club are on the verge of sealing the deal for prolific Germany forward Lea Schüller on a permanent transfer from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Acquisition for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has six months left on her contract, is known as a consistent goalscorer for her club and the national team. Having scored more than 100 goals for Bayern and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. This signing will be seen as a marquee coup for the Women’s Super League side.

Reports in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was losing one of its top forwards. According to reports, the formalities for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goalscoring to Boost United's Attack
The experienced striker's arrival should represent a significant uplift to United’s forward line. Schüller has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- Over seven consecutive seasons, including the last term, she reached at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Off the pitch, the winter break has brought additional business:
- The acquisition of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
Regarding the midfielder's new deal, a club official commented: “Miyazawa is now a critical component to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and technical ability allows her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
The new defender, having arrived from a club in the American league, added: “You can feel how much they [United] have grown in the last few years, competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and performing in the top European competition.”
