Slot Insists He Feels Safe and Has Liverpool's Support Following PSV Humiliation

Arne Slot conceded that it's natural for concerns to be raised about his future after another heavy defeat against the Dutch champions.

Liverpool endured their 9th defeat in 12 games, representing the team's worst run since being relegated in 1953-54.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a punishing evening at Anfield.

“I feel secure, things are alright, I've received significant support from management,” the coach commented.

“It's important to turn it around and secure a win obviously but if you are working as a coach and underperforming then it's expected that doubts arise.”

He added, “I accept my situation. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it is about time that we improved our results.”

Discussions with Club Management

Upon being questioned to expand on his dialogues with the Liverpool hierarchy, Slot said:

“We talk a lot. They are helpful for the squad and for me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me all the time of the day to say they back me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular exchanges I feel the belief. But I've not talked to them since this defeat yet so we'll see.”

Recurring Failings and Player Response

The manager expressed regret over known failings from his team in their Champions League defeat, specifically wasted chances and conceding too easily.

Meanwhile, player Jones was blunter in his view of the current crisis.

“I haven't got the solutions. Truthfully, I don’t. I'm telling that to everybody,” Jones stated.

“It's simply not good enough. I don’t even have to wait to consider it. I'm beyond feeling anger inside. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He added, “It's tough because I play for the team I support. I'm a supporter, and I've watched Liverpool all my life.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Reds side enduring a spell like this with performances this poor.”

He stated, “But we still have the emblem on our chest. And until that badge is gone, we'll continue to compete.”

“We will attempt to get this team back to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all once more the values of this club and why people call it the greatest side in the world.”

“At this moment, we're in trouble and we have to turn it around.”
