Star Denies Anti-Vaccine Views Following Voicing Contentious Pandemic Documentary
The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a recent film that casts doubt on the safety of vaccinations and lauds former health official the political figure.
The Film's Contentious Foundation
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a well-known publication co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for allegations that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively took to social media hailing Neeson's role in the film.
An Unequivocal Denial
A spokesperson for Liam Neeson have issued a comment pushing back against claims that he holds anti-immunization sentiments.
"Everyone can acknowledge that corruption may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that should never be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the statement reads. "Liam is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His considerable work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor did not shape the film's narrative and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the producers.
Central Themes Featured in the Feature
As presented, the script spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It declares that "medical science has become dangerously influenced by politics."
- Kennedy is interviewed claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The film further attacks Covid lockdowns, saying they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."
Previous Context and Recent Disputes
The documentary further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the topic of a BBC apology by the corporation for unbalanced reporting.
Recently, RFK Jr called on the national health agency to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism. This assertion is repeated in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation stating no connection has been found.
An Earlier Position of Advocacy
Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," stating that "The debate about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's script stating, "This marks not the end of our story. This is the dawn of a new chapter."
