The Gunners Face Wolves in Pivotal English Top Division Encounter

The stage is set for a fascinating top-flight contest as league leaders the Gunners welcome bottom-placed Wolves to the Emirates Stadium.

Starting Lineups

Arsenal have introduced three changes following the XI that endured a 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa last weekend. William Saliba, the Swedish striker and the Brazilian winger all start in the lineup. Martin Ødegaard and the Spanish midfielder drop to the substitutes' bench, while Riccardo Calafiori is not involved. Saliba is back after missing five matches due to injury.

The visitors also make three adjustments to their lineup after being skelped 4-1 at home by Manchester United last time out. Matt Doherty, João Gomes and Hwang Hee-chan are recalled. Hoever and Jhon Arias are on the bench, while Bellegarde misses out altogether.

Preamble

Good evening! And I mean, let's be honest …

The table reveals a striking story. The hosts sit comfortably at the top of the table, while Wolves prop up the division.

… however, even though this will be the 42nd time the top side have taken on the team at the foot of the entire table – winning 30 out of 41, with seven draws – which team is behind two of the four all-time upsets? Indeed, Wolves, that’s who! So while the Arsenal manager will undoubtedly be expecting another victory, Rob Edwards must know that underdogs sometimes find the target, and you never know. The start is at 8pm GMT. It’s on!

(The other two last-over-first victories in the modern top-flight era are Oldham Athletic's 1-0 win over United in March 1993, and Spurs – admittedly, this one sounds a bit weird - beating Liverpool in November 2008.)
