The Two Fatalities Identified in Brown University Shooting as Law Enforcement Persist in Manhunt for Killer.

Two students who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack on the university campus were honored at the start of the week – amid a widespread hunt for their shooter continued following the discharge by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Remembering Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a service on Sunday.

She served as vice-president of Brown’s division of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also posted words of sorrow publicly, stating: “Words cannot express. Thinking of her kin and peers, particularly her mother and father.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his first year of studies at the prestigious university, his family confirmed.

His name was verified by the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“He was exceptionally gentle, witty, and bright. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were wounded in the violent event in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Authorities said late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a police operation at a hotel about approximately 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was set to be freed.

“There is a killer at large,” declared the state's top prosecutor, Peter Neronha.

He added, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you have to regroup and pursue a different angle, and that is the current situation over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “This will probably generate fresh anxiety for our city”.

The gunman discharged a weapon inside a room in the engineering building on over the weekend, discharging in excess of 40 shots from a 9mm pistol, a police source told the news agency.

Officers that searched the hotel found two firearms and magazines when the individual was arrested, according to reports.

Those Hurt

Of the nine hurt, one pupil was allowed to go home, mentioned Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. An additional seven were in serious yet stable state, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.

An American diplomat, Jonathan Henick, said he was “profoundly grieved” by the student's death in a tribute. “We extend our sincere condolences to his relatives, loved ones, and schoolmates and mourn the loss of his promising future.”
